Bharat SUTRA

Sustainable Upcycling and Textile Regeneration Accelerator

Bharat SUTRA is ICCE’s flagship platform for advancing circularity in India’s textile sector.

Launched at Bharat Tex 2026 and reconvened at WCEF2026, the initiative is being developed as a 24-month, industry-led accelerator to translate circular textile priorities into practical action—through skills, technology adoption, industry pilots, market readiness and scalable solutions.

Bharat SUTRA brings together industry, textile clusters, government institutions, academia, technology providers, finance, innovators and global experts to help strengthen India’s transition towards a more resource-efficient, competitive and circular textile ecosystem.

The concept has been conceived and will be implemented by the International Council for Circular Economy in collaboration with our founding members – Circulearth from the Netherlands and Active Sites Consulting from Germany.

From Dialogue to Deployment

From Policy to Practice

Four key pillars of Bharat SUTRA

Capacity Building & Skills
Building practical capabilities across industry, MSMEs and textile clusters through masterclasses, training programmes, technical learning and train-the-trainer models.

Export & Compliance Readiness
Supporting industry preparedness for evolving requirements around traceability, Digital Product Passports, standards, certification and global buyer expectations.

Technology & Circular Infrastructure
Connecting Indian industry with affordable recycling, resource-efficiency and digital solutions, while exploring Textile Resource Facilities as cluster-level deployment and demonstration nodes.

Pilots to Scale
Developing company and cluster-level pilots, generating implementation evidence and creating pathways for replication and wider industry adoption.

Global Knowledge. Indian Deployment.

A key focus of Bharat SUTRA is to connect international expertise with Indian industry needs.

ICCE acts as a bridge between global research, technology and circular-economy experience and practical deployment within Indian textile companies and clusters—through technical exchanges, capacity building, technology partnerships and pilot programmes.

Building a Collaborative Ecosystem

Bharat SUTRA builds on ICCE’s work across circular textiles, skills, regulatory readiness, industry engagement and international collaboration, while bringing together complementary expertise from design, technology, business models, standards, finance and markets.

Join Bharat SUTRA

ICCE welcomes collaboration with textile companies, clusters, brands, technology providers, academic institutions, innovators, financial institutions and global knowledge partners interested in advancing circular solutions for India’s textile sector.
