World’s biggest open platform for the innovators or entrepreneurs of tomorrow to start today towards a smarter India
New Delhi, India - July- Aug, 2022.
Smart India Hackathon is a nationwide initiative to provide students with a platform to solve some of the pressing problems we face in our daily lives, and thus inculcate a culture of product innovation and a mindset of problem-solving. The first four editions SIH2017, SIH2018, SIH2019 and SIH2020 proved to be extremely successful in promoting innovation out-of-the-box thinking in young minds, especially engineering students from across India.
International Council for Circular Economy partnered with AICTE. From our 6 problem statements, 2 teams were able to present their innovation in the final round and won the hackathon.
TEAM 1: A journey of more than 3000 km, 2 sleepless nights, and several presentations later, I am proud to announce that my team and I have emerged victorious in Smart India Hackathon 2022!
The two days of the hackathon saw us work and create an application that was made to support the supply chain ecosystem while also informing the consumer how environmentally friendly a product is. Coming up with ideas and innovations on the problem statement given by International Council for Circular Economy required us to not only create an effective solution but also to ensure scalability of it since the global supply chain ecosystem sees millions of transactions per second. The solution wouldn’t have seen light without the efforts of my amazing team comprising of Nandan Herekar, Adrika Gupta, Prasanthi Gandham, Aditya Nayak and Sinchana lingaraju. The journey to this point is something worth looking back at and rejoicing. You can view the video explanation of our solution HERE.
TEAM 2: In the 36 hours of hackathon we worked upon the problem statement by International Council for Circular Economy where we developed an app based machine learning solution to track and productively manage and use the food waste. The hackathon was a perfect blend of innovation, thoughfulness, brainstroming, team work and co-ordination. These 36 hours of coding and development was an amazing experience for us and taught us how to work effectively under pressure. Special thanks to our mentor Biswajit Mohanty for being always available for us and helping us out on every hurdle. Working with amazingly talented and hard working team member Abhimanyu Tiwari, Aryan Raj, Bhumi singh, Vaibhav Ujjwal and astha bhatt was a pleasure and learning opportunity for me of how dedicated a team can be.
