ICCE signs an MoU with Association of Indian Universities

New Delhi, April 23, 2025 – The International Council for Circular Economy (ICCE), India’s premier think-tank dedicated to accelerating the transition to a restorative and regenerative economic model, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). This strategic collaboration marks a significant milestone in mainstreaming circular economy education and skill development across India’s higher education landscape.
The MoU aims to revolutionize the integration of circular economy principles into university curricula, fostering a new generation of leaders equipped to build and sustain a regenerative economy. By leveraging ICCE’s expertise and AIU’s extensive academic network, the partnership will deliver specialized programs, workshops, and certification courses on circular economy, sustainability, and resource efficiency.
Key Objectives of the Collaboration:
- Curriculum Innovation: Jointly develop and implement cutting-edge educational modules and certification programs on circular economy, sustainability, climate change, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) for students and faculty across Indian universities.
- Skill Development: Equip students with practical skills and knowledge relevant for emerging green jobs and regenerative business models, emphasizing material circularity, waste-to-wealth solutions, and resource optimization.
- Research and Innovation: Foster collaborative research, case studies, and innovation projects that address real-world challenges and promote scalable solutions for a circular and regenerative economy.
- Capacity Building: Organize workshops, seminars, and training sessions to build capacity among educators and administrators, ensuring the effective delivery of circular economy concepts in higher education.
