India's Circular Economy Revolution Gains Momentum after 4th National Workshop taken by the Prime Minister Modi : Sets the Stage for innovation and technology at ICEF2025
9th July'25
In a pioneering step towards green growth, India is witnessing a revolutionary shift in economic activity with industry leaders and the government embracing green governance and circular economy approach. Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the 4th National Workshop, where efforts such as ease of compliances, new waste recycling technology under GOBARdhan scheme, and additional thrust to start-ups were in the limelight. These efforts, which are aimed at converting waste into money, are now creating an enabling environment for businesses to adopt eco-friendly practices.
In the recent past, India’s initiatives towards a circular economy have been reported by the media internationally and locally, with increasing investments in green technology and attempts to minimize environmental footprints. All these developments, coupled with PM Modi’s perceptive guidance, have set a strong platform for a discourse on sustainable development.
Building on this momentum, the India Circular Economy Forum 2025 (ICEF2025) will be a game changer. To be held on 30-31st July at Hotel Radisson, Udyog Vihar, Gurugram, ICEF2025 will witness over 1,000+ delegates, 85+ expert speakers, and delegates from over 50 industries, government officials, and international partners. The forum theme, “Mitigating Risks and Exploring Opportunities for Businesses” will help industry to explore best global practices, promoting a circular transition.
Solution focused approaches enabling resource efficiency as well as creativity in business will be at the center of ICEF2025. Innovative contributions to sustainability will also be promoted through highly ranked ACE Awards that were pioneered by the International Council for Circular Economy (ICCE) for recognizing excellence across categories in several fields such as Enterprise Innovation, MSMEs, Higher Education, Social Impact, and Risk Mitigation.
Shalini Goyal Bhalla, Managing Director, the International Council for Circular Economy (ICCE), stated, “ICEF2025 is a critical milestone where ideas and initiatives meet to equip businesses with the ability not just to deal with current challenges but to lead the sustainable future. This year’s theme “Mitigating risks and exploring opportunities for businesses” will bring real change across industries” We look forward to creating an ecosystem that fosters circular economy principles and brings about real change across industries.”
ICEF2025 is not only an event, but a call to stakeholders in general to come together and build a strong, circular economy that is aligned with international sustainability imperatives such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and examples such as the European Green Deal. As India continues its journey towards a greener future, ICEF2025 stands as a powerful testament to the nation’s commitment to sustainability and innovation, an evolution inspired by visionary leadership and proactive national initiatives
