Douglas Gayeton is my guest today on Inside Ideas. In 2009 Douglas founded the Lexicon of Sustainability alongside his partner Laura Howard Gayeton. The Lexicon’s work accelerates the adoption of practices that build more resilient food systems and help combat climate change.
An information architect, filmmaker, photographer and writer, Douglas has created award-winning work at the boundaries of traditional and converging media since the early 90s. He directed the KNOW YOUR FOOD series for PBS and GROWING ORGANIC for USDA, and has authored two books, SLOW: Life in a Tuscan Town, and LOCAL: The New Face of Food & Farming in America.
And to find out what food startups can tell us about ways to transform our food system, Douglas’s Green Brown Blue Circular Economy of Food accelerator teamed up with Thought for Food on the Circular Economy of Food Challenge to develop food system solutions that have a truly positive social and ecological impact, that go beyond sustainability, and build a truly circular economy of food.
