Explaining the significance of zero waste practice Explaining the significance of zero waste practices in India, Mrs. Bhalla believes that new emerging policies stating the minimum recycle percentage of products are enormously welcomed in the economy, which can reduce dependence on single use plastics. While stating that waste is just a misplaced resource, she emphasised how zero waste practices can be extremely beneficial for us in managing our sustainable development goals.

It is indeed a matter of extreme pride for Interna It is indeed a matter of extreme pride for International Council for Circular Economy that our Managing Director, Miss Shalini Goyal Bhalla, has written a book - "CIRCULAR ECONOMY - (RE) EMERGING MOVEMENT- The path to sustainable development", as the first book on Circular Economy in India. Shalini's book is a scholarly work on the maturing of economies- Closed, Open, Linear and now CIRCULAR. The book advances from the linear to Circular approach divulging how scarce resources could be put to optimum utilization, to restore our planet's harmony. She has picked up several sectors, outlining how each could become sustainable through a loop-based approach. Several case-studies, infographics and diagrams make it easier for the reader to delve into the subject. The book is recommended for Circular Economy practitioners, Sustainability heads, industry experts, government bodies, policymakers, academia, research, people from associated sectors, students, bilateral and multilateral organizations that are working in sustainability.

International Council for Circular Economy hosted International Council for Circular Economy hosted a webinar on 15th January 2021 on the topic “Renewable energy- a Circular alternate!”. 
Dr Suneel Pandey talked about carbon offsetting and its practice in developed and emerging countries. He also provided his views on agriculture methane capture and landfill gas extraction as being one of the solutions to the GHG emissions. Mr. Punamchandra Rathod shared with us the many measures that are being taken Gujarat towards renewable energy production. He discussed the major targets that the State has established for itself. “The Government of Gujarat is committed to achieve the renewable energy target of 30 GW by 2022,” he said. Mr. Karan Mangotra discussed the international measures that he has witnessed by the economies to reduce the use of fossil fuel. He gave his opinion on China's announcement for Carbon Neutrality by 2060 and also discussed the role of Carbon markets play in promoting the use of Renewable Energy and Environmental Efficiency in the Indian context.

Stating that the issues of inadequate clothing is Stating that the issues of inadequate clothing is not paid much attention in India, Mr. Anshu Gupta believes that every individual must have a right to earn decent clothing for themselves. He described GOONJ's journey of producing 'My Pad', a sanitary napkin made from second hand cloths. With the production process being completely eco-friendly, sustainable, and the pad being reusable, they decided to not sell it on profit, rather to make it as a tool for healthy dialogue to develop. He concludes that establishing and adopting alternatives to fast fashion is the long way to go, and it is the responsibility of the manufacturers and consumers to delve deep into their production and consumption practices.
Claiming excessive consumption as the biggest fact Claiming excessive consumption as the biggest factor that led to the increasing rate of microplastics in the environment, Mr. Bhargava, nevertheless, believes that this is the most exciting time period to witness innovative technological advancements in the field of plastic recycling, circular packaging and waste management. He states that even with significant changes in the line, India should head towards designing policy guidelines for recyclable packaging, which will help in the progression of a reliable circular economy.
