India's Tryst with a Circular Economy

International Council for Circular Economy and its work in Circular Economy is well known, both domestically and internationally. But it was an absolute honor for us when a working document was co-authored by our Managing Director, Ms Shalini Goyal Bhalla for the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM), along with the other contributors Shankar Sarma and Mausam Kumar.

The paper discusses the way to Green Growth, the size of the Circular Economy, is India predominantly linear, the effects of Climate Change, India’s transition to a Circular Economy, preservation of Natural Capital including biological and technical components, ways to reduce negative externalities, Indian measures towards creating a Circular Economy, role of financial Incentives, Challenges, and Policy Recommendations to achieve the transition.

These are an ambitious set of agenda items. Tracking progress on each will require concerted action from the #governments#businesses, and #international #organizations#policymakers and #consumers behavioral change including but not limited to #financial incentives.
